From my own experiences in building my HTPC (Home Theater PC), my recommendations lean toward an ATI core video card. Typically any model with an HDMI connection, which I believe is standard now on all the newer models. The GeForce HDMI has issues with resolutions compatibility with most TV flat screens that I’ve been able to test them with, this includes Samsung and Sony LCD and LED units. Even a friends laptop with a GeForce powered HDMI connector has problem snapping resolutions to TV units where a ATI powered HDMI connection easily plug and plays with all TVs I’ve tested it with. Geforce is still my choice for gaming solutions especially when playing Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, and occasionally Star Craft 2. Thanks for reading my post. Hope this helps.
